This Chocolate Cake is a very easy simple recipe, but tastes delicious. If you are new to baking and want an easy to make chocolate cake then this is the recipe for you. Baking is obviously a very important part of cake decorating and you can’t just set about decorating any type of cake. Some cakes are much better for stacking and carving than others, especially when it comes to some of the novelty cakes. Luckily, if you are looking for something a little more sturdy then Paul’s Famous Firm and Moist Chocolate Cake recipe comes highly recommended! It’s perfect for carving and it tastes amazing.

  • 225g plain flour
  • 350g castor sugar
  • 85g cocoa powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 125ml oil
  • 250ml milk
  • 1 ½ tsp bicarbonate of soda

      Hi, Its Paul here. The chocolate cake is a very very rich deep cake and does have a thick crust. It’s designed to be strong for carving and stacking cakes. If it’s extra thick like a brownie it might need a little longer in the oven next time.
