Whether you’re just starting out or looking to refine your skills, we provide a huge library of online tutorials, live and recorded classes, and fully accredited and certified courses to help you build confidence, creativity, and even a thriving cake business.

The Story of CakeFlix

CakeFlix began back in 2002 with Paul Bradford as a sole trader, growing into the incorporated business it is today under Paul and David Brice. Originally the Paul Bradford Sugarcraft School, CakeFlix has delivered at least one feature-length tutorial every week since 2011, helping thousands of cake makers improve their skills. In 2012, they launched CakeFlix Pro to help small cake business owners turn their passion into profit, guiding them every step of the way to build a thriving, successful cake business.

In 2018, CakeFlix evolved into its current format, bringing together the biggest library of structured online tutorials, as well as live classes. With the support of a team of expert cake artists and business professionals, CakeFlix has grown into a thriving community of over 200,000 cake enthusiasts worldwide.

We’ve always been at the forefront of cake innovation:

  • 2003 – 1st website offering bespoke online cake orders
  • 2011 – 1st subscription-based online cake school
  • 2020 – 1st fully accredited online cake decorating courses

Paul and David and the Story About CakeFlix

Meet Paul Bradford

Inspired by his gran, Paul’s love of cake decorating began early. After studying at Edinburgh’s Telford College and gaining experience at Oliphant’s bakery in Linlithgow, Paul quickly carved out a niche as a cake decorator.

With David, he grew his business to 7 outlets with 35 staff, before turning his focus to teaching. Since then, Paul has shared his skills all over the world, online and in-person, inspiring thousands of cake makers.

Paul’s work has been recognised with:

  • Several TV appearances

  • Cakes for the late Queen, King Charles, Prince Albert of Monaco, and celebrities like Barry Gibb from the Bee Gees

  • Cake Masters Best Learning Experience Awards (2014, 2016–2019)

  • The prestigious Disciples de’ Escoffier award for teaching cake decorating

Whether you learn online or in class, Paul ensures every student leaves feeling confident, inspired, and ready to create.

Meet David Brice

Paul and David and the Story About CakeFlix

David’s journey is just as extraordinary. After joining the Army at 16 and serving on multiple deployments, he transitioned to a successful career as a senior civil servant. But his passion for business pulled him in a new direction—helping Paul grow the cake business.

David brought bold ideas to the table, including the first online cake tutorial subscription platform, building the website, filming, and editing everything himself. In 2020, he led the creation of the world’s first fully accredited online cake decorating course, CakeFlix Master, and in 2021 launched the hugely successful CakeFlix Business Boot Camp.

David’s expertise focuses on business growth, development, and enhancing the CakeFlix experience, helping members turn their passion for cake into a successful business.

Together, Paul and David

Between them, Paul and David combine creative expertise and business know-how, building CakeFlix into a platform where cake makers can learn, grow, and achieve their dreams. From sculpted cakes to business confidence, CakeFlix is here to help every step of the way.
