Bleeding Monster Cake Tutorial with a Gory Surprise!
At first glance, this cheeky little green monster looks far too cute to be scary. With his big googly eye, cheeky tongue, little white horns and rather wild hairstyle, he’s certainly got plenty of character. But don’t be fooled by that innocent face. This monster has a rather gruesome secret!
In this fun Halloween cake decorating tutorial, Paul Bradford creates a Bleeding Monster Cake with a surprise that’s guaranteed to get a reaction. When the cake is cut open, a stream of blood-red edible liquid flows out, turning a cute monster into something straight out of a horror film.
It’s a brilliant combination of character cake decorating and a clever special effect, making it ideal for Halloween parties, themed celebrations or anyone who enjoys giving their guests a bit of a fright.
A Cute Monster with a Gruesome Twist
Paul created this cake during a live demonstration, and as you might expect, there was plenty of fun along the way.
The monster itself is full of personality. From the oversized eye and toothy grin to the spiky claws and green hair, there are lots of lovely details that bring this little creature to life.
Of course, the real fun begins when it’s time to cut the cake.
Rather than revealing ordinary sponge and filling, the knife releases a pool of red liquid that looks alarmingly like blood. It’s a wonderfully gruesome effect, particularly when you consider how friendly the monster looks before the first slice!
And there’s a rather amusing story behind this particular creation. After finishing the demonstration, Paul decided to give the cake to the little boy next door. A lovely gesture, although apparently the boy’s mum wasn’t quite so delighted when she saw what happened after cutting into it!
We suspect that’s one cake she’ll remember for a while.
