1. Making the stand

This cake requires a very straightforward stand which Paul explains in this lesson. Feel free to adapt to your own style and designs as with many of his stands Paul just uses what he has available to do the job.

2. Carving the cake

What a great design to start and practice your carving skills. As there’s no brand or model of car to match you have poetic license, but follow Paul’s steps to go through each stage of the design process.

3. Covering the cake

Paul’s using coloured sugarpaste, but you can cover in white and airbrush if you prefer. It’s important to get the sugarpaste neatly shaped to the design you’ve carved.

7. Cutting out the wheels

Nice and easy this one, simply a case of rolling out modelling chocolate and cutting out the wheel sizes. Allow them a little time to set.

8. Adding the wheels

First Paul covers the board then creates some pretty colourful tyres. Adding the tyres and the mirrors really starts to bring this cute little design to life.
