Chocolate cupcakes too dry

I want to make some chocolate cupcakes that are moist. I have tried Mrs Jones vanilla cupcakes and they’re are fluffy and moist, but when I make chocolate (substitute 40gms flour for cocoa) they are too dry. Wondered how I can make them moist? Want a different recipe to Paul’s moist chocolate cake as ingredients are expensive.

Hi Tomandhen123

Try using a little less cocoa powder which can sometimes be drying, use 30g instead of 40g and see how that goes. Mrs Jones also says to just mix the ingredients enough to combine. If the batter is quite stiff loosen it slightly with a little more milk or some warm water.
