Daisy Petals

I have been making sugarpaste daisies and they have been turning out perfectly.
However, when I move them/ pick them up, sometimes the petals fall off and when one goes, they all do. So is there anyway to avoid this or am I just handling them too roughly?

Try adding some gum trag or CMC to the paste. This will strengthen it. Or try using flower paste which can be used much thinner than sugarpaste and is much stronger. Jx

Hi Peachy,  I find using half gum paste and half fondant makes really lovely daisies, softer and more natural looking. I find apple trays are better for drying daisies because they’re wider and the right depth. When I’ve dried mine I gently slide a palette knife under the flower and place on my cake attaching with royal icing or some fondant thinned down with water. Hope this helps.
