I realize that Paul used a 10 inch square cake, but how deep was the baked cake? I realize that he used one and a half times that depth for the height of the jeep.

That looks like a regular 2.5 – 3 inch deep cake. Paul uses half more to obtain the depth from the same 10 inch cake. 🙂
