I’d maybe leave it a few days to harden and use flowerpaste. The baking paper could have left it soft on the underside and it may not have hardend up fully. When ive done shoes I’ve done them a few days before then I’ve added the heel on straight away to hold the weight instead of leaving it unsupported as its fragile. Also depends on the thickness of the paste as well thin paste is more prone to breakage. X

Thank you can you by flower paste as I just used sugar paste?

Or does anyone have a recipe to make this. 🙂

For gum paste or flower paste add  1 teaspoon of tylose powder or gum tragacanth  to 250gms of sugar paste. Knead until soft and pliable. Make a sausage of the paste and divide into blocks, wrap very well in cling film and store in a zip lock bag in the fridge or freezer. If using gum tragacanth, leave the paste to rest for 12/24 hours before using.

Hi, I have made the shoe a few times and I use Squires Flowerpaste, which I buy from Squires Kitchen online.  You have to use flowerpaste (also known as gumpaste) for this to work, I don’t think that you will have much success from sugarpaste as it will not dry overnight – more like a couple of weeks!  You can but this from most cake decorating sites – just watch out for postage costs – or cake shops that are sugarcraft stockists.  Priced at between ÂŁ4 – ÂŁ5.  Follow Paul’s instructions on the video and you should be fine.
