Making double barrel from dummy cakes
I want to practice a design on cake dummy and it needs to be double barrel for the effect I want. I’m not sure how to stick the dummy cakes together. I think I read where someone used tape in between and then on the seams or someone said melted chocolate?
Any advice is appreciated.
Ganache can be used to stick the two dummies together. To make sure they are firmly in place, set them aside for a few hours.
To make a smooth platform for decorating, cover the dummies with a few coatings of ganache and the seams should disappear. Once the ‘cake’ is iced, the seam or any other imperfections will no longer be visible.
