Hi,
is it safe to add marscaponi to a buttercream recipe for filling a cake that will be covered in sugarpaste.?

Mascarpone is fresh dairy and can not be used as a filling in cakes which will remain out for longer than a couple of hours. The FSA does not recommend using it even mixed with buttercream as it has a high content of water which could attract bacterial growth. Hope this helps.
