I wonder if there is an alternative to apricot jam when preparing a fruit cake for icing? I have just realised that I am out of apricot jam. Do you think it would be ok to use sieved marmalade instead?

That will be fine bellscakes. Mix the marmalade with a little water first then bring it to the boil for a couple of second. Pop it through a sieve to rid it of any lumpy bits and it I’ll be perfect. XX 🙂
