wedding cake sizing
All the price charts I have seen seem to be for cakes 4″ deep .. However as the bottom layer of my 3 tier cake is fruit cake – it is normally 3″ Will this “unbalance” the design ?

People seem to put all sorts of sizes together now instead of sticking to more traditional designs. Have a play with your cake tins, put some odd sizes together and see what how they look. Personally I think it will look good. Here’s an example of a shallower bottom tier:
