3 peak chocolate wrap cake

Hi paul, I am speeches about your creativeness and neat work. I saw everything step by step what you did but 1. when you cut the cake you didn’t use for all cake layer the liquid that mean no need to pour
2. for all sugar past decoration I have to use madeira cake or you have other opition
3.Paul like this huge cake how can I transfer to the main decoration place for you easy but for beginner what you will advice
4. You know all sugar past decoration looking very nice but it is etable or not some people if you want yes if not it’s ok what you can say because I want to know I don’t have any idea
5. at last how can I cut the cake I hope you aren’t boar for those question thank you so much

I hope you won’t mind me answering your question which I will try to do step by step.

1. Paul poured orange truffle flavoured Baily’s creme liqueur on the cakes to give some extra nice flavour. This is optional, use the liquid only if you like, it can be any liquid of your choice which will compliment the cake of your choice.

2. Paul has used modelling chocolate to decorate his cakes, it is not sugar paste. Sugar paste will not hold the shape as it takes too long to dry and would be heavy and also crack. Modelling chocolate sets straight away but is still pliable enough to shape even after all the decorations are finished. You can use Madeira cake if that is what you like or any other cake of your choice as long as it is quite dense and can be carved when making the elegant shape. Paul has used his lovely chocolate cake.

3. Tall cakes can be a problem to transport to the place of party or reception. There are special boxes available for transporting tall cakes, you can see here http://www.cakecraftshop.co.uk/shop/products/id/ccwtallbox.htm and also non slip mats like this http://www.cakecraftshop.co.uk/shop/products/id/c87011.htm which can be placed under the box to stop it from slipping and moving too much. The box will still be very heavy so you would need help to lift and carry it into your vehicle and also to help you set it up at the reception.

4. As I mentioned before the decoration is made of chocolate and not sugar paste, it is all edible just like ordinary chocolate. Nearly everybody likes chocolate, if someone does not like it the chocolate can be removed easily from the cake or the guest can take it off from the cake and leave it on the plate.

5. If this cake is for a wedding, the bride and groom can make a ceremonial cut by touching the chocolate decoration on the bottom cake with the cake knife. Once all the photos have been taken it would be better to remove the cake to a kitchen away from guests and dismantled. That is to remove the decorations and separate each tier for cutting and serving.

If you can get friends or relatives to help you it will make it less difficult for you especially for lifting and moving the cake. I hope I have understood all your questions and my answer helps. Just one more thing, if you are unable to get the special box, a big sturdy box can be made at home by using a strong card board box like the ones which tvs and other appliances are transported in. Just make sure that you use extra strong tape to make it very secure and always support the box from the bottom.
