Welcome to the Cake Decorators Q&A
Air Brush
Hi
I am going to make the teddy bear cake and would like to use my airbrush to colour the white sugarpaste brown, once it’s on the cake. Would this work ok without making the cake too damp? I just want to save some time as it takes quite a while to knead the colour into the sugarpaste.
Thanks x

Will you not be piping the bear with buttercream fudge icing? The sugarpaste is really to hold the cake components together and keep the bear stable. You could use a ready coloured paste. If you use the airbrush let one layer dry before spraying another.
Thanks MIWL
Yes I will be icing the cake with sugarpaste and then piping with the buttercream. But I thought the sugarpaste would need to be coloured as white may show through too much. I have sugarflare dark brown colour to add to the buttercream fudge icing. Incidentally I can’t see a recipe for the fudge buttercream icing can you please tell me where I can finf this?
Many thanks
