Airbrush and pastillage

Hi

Is it better to wait until the pastillage is dry before airbrushing? Or is pastillage unsuitable for using the airbrush?

Hi clare

There’s some information on how to colour and work with pastillage here:
http://www.craftcompany.co.uk/help-and-advice/helpful-advice/product-information/how-to-use-pastillage.html
Pastillage can be airbrushed however it’s better to use alcohol based paints rather than water based ones. Because it is sugar, moisture from water will still affect it if it becomes too wet. When I’ve made pastillage pieces I’ve coloured them with dry petal dust or coloured small amounts of paste with gel colours as required.
Hope this helps.
