Angel Cake

Hi all,

I made the Angel cake for a wedding last weekend, and while I was very pleased with it, my rice paper feathers curled over way more that Paul’s do in the tutorial. Not sure if it was because of the rice paper (I could find the Dr O stuff anywhere), the weather or because of something I did.

As I said I did like it like this, but for future reference just wondered if anyone had any advice? I posted a pic on the facebook page!

Thanks,

Lynda xx

Hi Lynda

Haven’t made this, but is it possible that the rice paper was adhered too low on the triangle bit? Not making myself very clear am I? Just, if you stick the triangle more in the centre rather than at the straight edge, the top (feathery bit) wouldn’t flop down so far. It may have also been caused by moisture making the paper droop. Hope you can make sense of this.

Hi madeitwithlove,

Thanks for your response. I thought about the triangle being adhered too low too, and watched the tutorial again, and Paul does it at the bottom too. You’re probably right about the moisture thought, it’s the only thing I can think of.
Thanks again for your help,

Lynda xx

Hiya, could it be that you sprayed it with too much lustre spray?

Hi idong40

The cone information is directly under the video here:
