Welcome to the Cake Decorators Q&A
Art Deco Cake
I am going to make the Charles Rennie Mackintosh cake and the ingredients include 8″ by 6″ cake, 6″x 6″and 4″ by 6″ cake. However the picture looks as though the top and second tiers are not as deep as the bottom one.
I would be grateful for advice on the sizes.

Hi alison-johnston
I agree, it is a little confusing, please contact [email protected] for a more definitive answer.
My own opinion is that the base cake is either 6 or 8 inches tall and the top cake is 4″ tall looking at the video.
Beautiful tutorial, so good luck with it when you make 🙂
Thank you for your response.. The tutorial is excellent as Paul’s expert advice talked me through making the Mackintosh Roses and I am delighted with how they tuned out . I just need to figure out the size f each tier. Think I may run with two 6″ deep and one 4″.
I would be inclined to do the same as you. I hope it works out fine.
