Best before dates

Hi was lucky enough to buy a bulk of cake decorating equipment from a local lady who recently retired from the cake making business. I was looking though the sugarflair gels and edible dusts that she had left over and a lot of them were past their BBE dates. Do you think I should chuck them out? are they unsafe? I am not in business yet by the way but have been making cakes for friends, though I have yet to use any of the out of date products.
Thanks in advance

The difference between BBE and used by is, used by mean that the product needs to be discarded after this date and BBE mean that the manufacture only guarantees the quality of the product to that date but doesn’t mean the product cannot be used after that date. If you are in any doubt throw them out to be on the safe side.
