Bride and Groom Cake Sharp Edges

Hi everyone!

I’m catching up on all the lessons I haven’t watched, I was wondering if you have tried the upside down method for icing cakes to get sharp edges? On real cakes that is! I usually go for layered cakes that have been firmed up in the fridge.

I am not scared of trying on a dummy, but just wondering if it’s too hard to achieve on a real cake with fillings.

Thanks a million!

Good luck.

I had great sucess with it too. I’m not very strong, the best I could do was an 8″ round. If you’re happy about lifting bigger cakes, go for it, it’s brilliant.
