Cake Shelf Life

I accidently made a cake today (Saturday 17th) which is for next Saturday but to be eaten Sunday (24th). It’s normal sponge, jam and buttercream. It’s sealed in sugarpaste/fondant icing. Will it last or will I have to make again?

Hi Emma I made a cake last Saturday which is for a birthday today.., your cake will be just fine, the fondant will act as a seal keeping the cake fresh and moist.. Just make sure the cake is kept in a box or container and put in the fridge or a cool room. Take the cake out of the fridge on the morning of the event and let it come to room temperature, you may notice a bit of condensation on the fondant, this is normal and will dry out , Hope this helps!
