cake stability

when i am cutting the cake , its getting crumbles. the cake is too soft. how can i keep the stability of the cake (sponge cake)

Hi chachi

Do you mean a cake which has not been filled and decorated? If it is, chilling the cake either in the fridge or freezer for 20 minutes or so will help reduce crumbing when the cake is cut. Let me know if this helps or have I missed the point?
