Carving – Ship Cake
I see that in the ship cake video the cake is carved and then filled. Would it make a difference if the cake was stacked and filled first and then carved?

I’ve seen people do it that way, I’ve never tried. I suppose the ganache filling could get a bit messy when carving out the interior of the ship. Although if you carve the cake from partially frozen it would help reduce a lot of mess and also keep shape. You’d need to keep popping it in and out of the fridge and still give the ship a final coating of ganache.
