Cooking time for 10” Madeira cake
How long do I cook a 10” round 3” deep Madeira cake for please
Depending on your oven and also the recipe, it can take anywhere between 1.5 hrs - 2.5 hrs.
Bake at 150c/130c fan.
All ovens are slightly different so, I suggest babysitting the bake until done and jot down the taken time for the future.
Madeira cake domes quite significantly. This is a good indicator that the centre of the cake is beginning to set.
Two thirds of the way through baking, use a wooden skewer to test the centre of the cake. If it is still wet, keep baking and checking periodically, until the skewer comes out clean or with just a few moist grains.
Your best friends are your sense of smell and sight. Keep an eye and nose on your cake for a successful bake. Hope all turns out good. 🙂
