cooking time for Paul’s chocolate cake

Hi I have just watched Paul’s chocolate cake tutorial where he baked two cakes a 6in and a 9 or 10 in cake. He put them both in the oven side by side and baked them for 2 hours. I was wondering why the smaller of the two cakes doesn’t burn or ends up over cooked? any ideas?

Hi shadz

I posted a similar question when the tutorial was first posted. If you put ‘Paul’s chocolate cake tutorial’ in the search box you will see my initial question and the answer from Paul.  There are many other posts for the recipe, some members have had problems with baking and timing, others like myself have been luckier. This is really lovely cake, please have a look at the many comments received, positive and negative, they may be helpful if you decide to have a go at baking it. x

Make sure your cake tin is a heavy duty one, i’m positive it makes a difference
