cover a Dummy cakes
Hi !!! i have some dummy cakes to do for a showroom,For the fondant ones i know they will be ok…But One of them I want to do is someting like the angel cake and i was wondering what should i cover my dummy with! does royal icing would be fine to last and how long can they keep them!!!! ( sorry for my english, i’m french canadian) Can you give me some advise please!!!!!Thank you!!!!!!!!
Hi Lindaorso
You could still cover the angel cake cone dummy with fondant in exactly the same way as the other dummy cakes.
Royal icing would be fine too. Fondant and royal icing covering lasts for years if stored out of direct sunlight and kept clean by dusting it ocassionally. Ganache covering can be used but will not last as long since it is made from dairy.
