Welcome to the Cake Decorators Q&A
Covering a Mannequin
Just wondering if anybody has any idea how to go about covering a polystyrene mannequin with sugarpaste.
It’s over 12″ deep (drop) from bust, was wondering if I should add some Tylo powder to stop sugarpaste from stretching to much when I attach it…. Any help would be great.. Thanks.

Hi Mancbel
Adding some tylose would certainly help to make the covering easier. Paul covers the wedding shower cake in this tutorial http://www.cakeflix.com/wedding-shower-cake-lesson-5-covering-the-cake
which is a similar technique but he has used half and half.
Thanks for your advice will try with half and half mix and have a look at Paul’s tutorial.
I feel a bit more confident covering it now…Thanks again for your help.
