Cream cheese frosting in a 3 tier cake ?

Hi, I have someone that has asked me to do her wedding cake but she has asked me to do some weird combinations of cake and icing !! I am not a professional just a hobby cake maker. The bottom and top tier I am happy to do but I’m not keen on the middle tier. She wants lemon cake with cream cheese frosting. I am bothered about the cream cheese frosting oozing out with the weight of the sugarpaste on it. Also the fact that it would not be possible to keep the cake chilled once covered. What does anyone think ? Thank you.

Hello fancycakes12

Cream cheese has to be kept refrigerated so really not advisable to use as a cake tier which needs to be decorated over a few days. There are lots of answers on the site covering cream cheese. Please take a peek here for relevant advice and opinions:

Cream cheese buttercream

White chocolate lemon buttercream would be an excellent and safer alternative. Hope the above helps. If you need any more help or information just post again.

Thank you so much. This was my opinion but I I needed clarification from someone that knew better than me before I told the bride. You have been a great help. X
