Crumbly Carrot Cake

My carrot cake is very crumbly. It breaks into small crumbs when I cut it.
How do I solve this problem? Not sure where I went wrong.

But it tastes great and is very soft.
Please bear with me. I am an over enthusiastic beginner.

Thank you.

Hello ThanmolieHV

I always find cakes with nuts in to a be a little crumbly at first. Nuts, although add more moisture because of their oil content can also make them feel a bit sandy. You’ll notice a difference in texture and aroma the next day. Roasting the nuts may also give you a finer, more compact crumb which doesn’t break so easily.
You’ll get it right next time, carrot cake is so forgiving, not an aweful lot can go wrong with it. Enjoy!

Hi there, my friend gave me a recipe for carrot cake that has bananas in it. It’s a sturdier cake and it also tastes fantastic. Let me know if you want the recipe.
