Deep Wedding Cake

Hi
I am making a 4 tier wedding cake, all tiers are deeper than usual, approx 4 to 5 inches.
Each tier has a deep border (approx 21/2 to 3 inches deep) which has a curved edge and is embossed pattern, created by using a mould. All moulds I have and can find are not so deep and I wonder if someone can tell me how you can achieve this?
Thank you

Hello Irene249

Is there a link where we can see a picture of the border please?

Hi irene249

I don’t know who makes that particular mould however Karen Davis has deep vintage lace moulds which you can see by googling for them. Claire Bowman has deep edible lace moulds like this
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CHANTILLY-LACE-LARGE-MAT-CAKE-LACE-MAT-BY-CLAIRE-BOWMAN-/130989859729?pt=Uk_Crafts_Cake_Decorating_MJ&hash=item1e7f9aa391
and I think Marvellous moulds also make the deeper onlays.
I have wide textured side rollers which I bought at the cake International show. I’ve google the company but no luck for website.
I’m in London at the moment and might be able to visit some of the cake decorating companies, if I find anything I’ll post.
