Do you use syrup in the recipe for dreamtime cakes chocolate cake or is that just when adapting it to toffee cake. I tried the toffee cake and it was great, fancy trying the chocolate but never used syrup in a chocolate cake before.

As you know that recipe has been posted a member and she hasn’t stated whether syrup is used. I tend to use syrup with most cakes unless they are already extremely moist like a carrot cake for instance. The syrup will keep the cake moist and give it a couple of extra shelf life days. It’s fine to use syrup on chocolate cake.

Sorry I meant golden syrup, she mentions this in her recipe and I was just wondering?

The recipe does contain golden syrup for her chocolate cake which is made from 50g of cocoa powder. She says the recipe can be adapted for any cake
