drippy effect

Hello everyone,

I want to make a cake with dripping effect, I just want to know whether I can do that on fondant cover cakes or they have to be buttercream or ganached only.

I have to travel with this cake for an hour so thought a fondant covering will be more safe.

Thanks

Neha

Hi Neha

On a fondant covered cake you will get better results using royal icing. There’s a recipe in the following blog which you may find useful: http://www.deliciouslyyours.com.au/baked—your-diy-blog/a-little-bit-of-drizzle-for-your-cake

To prevent a sticky mess, the royal icing drips should be completely dry and hard before attempting to paint them.

Hope this helps.
