How long will this cake keep for in the freezer?

Most mud cakes will freeze for 3 -6 months. I can’t see why this one can’t be frozen for a similar time. It should be wrapped well in parchment paper and several layers of cling film then in a carrier bag or box. If cakes are not wrapped properly they can be prone to freezer burn and spoil. Defrost still in it’s wrapping on the kitchen counter to keep moisture in.

Hi, thank you. I’ve wrapped mine in parchment and a couple if layers if foil then a plastic bag. Do you think I should take it out and wrap it in a load of cling film, then replace the foil and bag, or us it too late for that??

Hi Sandra

You don’t have to re wrap your cake, it will be fine as it is. I just put lots of wrapping around all my cakes and pop them into cake boxes to prevent freezer burn. The box helps to keep the cake as level as possible & protects it from being accidentally bumped or crushed. You’ll be fine! xx
