Hi Cameron1

Are you cutting gelatine or fondant? If you smear a tiny bit of trex/crisco on the cutter it may help as a release agent. Gelatine can be coloured with gel paints. I hope I’m understanding your question correctly, please let me know if this is helpful.

Thank you for your reply , i think i will need to try magic icing powder to make edible lace butterfly . I thought i could use gelatin icing sugar water instead Dont no if that will work .

If you would like to make home made cake lace there are many recipes online, just google ‘home made cake lace recipe’. It is made with confectioners sugar, tylose and meringue powder. Recipes differ but fundamentally use similar ingredients. I think you will get better results using silicone lace mats rather than cutters. I have really pretty lace designe rolling pins which emboss gumpaste for making filigree decorations which can be cut out with cutters. This is just another suggestion.
