Golden Caster Sugar

Is caster sugar confectioners / icing sugar? I can get a golden sugar that is quite coarse, but not fine. Would putting the golden coarse sugar thru a food processor make it a “golden caster sugar”? Thanks for the help.

Hello franke

Caster sugar is finer than granulated sugar, confectioners sugar is powdered sugar sometimes mixed with cornstarch as an anit caking agent. If you have ordinary sugar just run it through the food processor ot break the crystals down a little. If you have a coffee grinder you can make it in that too although limit the grinding to pulses rather than whizzing!
You can get caster sugar in Israeli supermarkets. Google caster sugar Israel and you should get back some information. This might help too:

Thank you, miwl! I just checked it out. Apparently it is a fairly new product that hasn’t had much, if any, advertising. You are simply amazing! Is there anything that you don’t know that is cake or cake product related???
