Welcome to the Cake Decorators Q&A

I’m attempting the new handbag and dog cake… does anybody know how deep the cake Paul used is? I’m not sure how tall the bag part is supposed to be. Thanks! Karen

Because I made a 1.5″ tall 9×13 inch cake for something else and I’ve given myself a headache trying to figure out if I can get same dimensions, ha! I think I can if I make four layers (will have to glue the top layer from cutoffs)… would be 8″ wide x 4″ width, x about 6″ tall I think. Anyway, have to start it now. Is a gift for a friend for tomorrow, eeeeeek!

Never mind, it’s a new tutorial so I guess there aren’t many who’ve done it. Cake almost finished. I’ll post the height of the bag part when I get home in case anyone needs it. I suspect it’s 4.5 or 5 inches. I used a tray cake, so it’s 8 inches by 4 inches of cake…. I find it easier to bake tray cakes and carve…. easier to bake evenly!
