hi how should i apply gold or silver leaf i have a shiny badge that i have molded onto fondent and i had a dummy try and the leaf is sooooo fragile and i could’nt stick it help 🙂

Application of gold leaf is a very delicate operation and has to be carried out in a room with no draughts, or other people walking in and out. If you are using a gold/silver leaf booklet you will need two medium sized paint brushes. Next get the booklet as close to the object which you are embellishing and slide the leaf by the the corners with the paint brushes using both hands. Static in the bristles will make the leaf adhere to the brushes enabling you to lift and place the leaf onto the object. Don’t breath while you are performing the manoeuvre as the slightest movement of air will dislodge the leaf from the bristles. Once the leaf is on your object, very gently smooth into place.
