Hello Woodysmum
Brush the surface of the cake with a little cooled boiled water or edible glue. If you have a spray bottle with a fine spray nozzle, mist the surface of your cake where you want to place the topper and gently press it on. To prevent the icing becoming gluppy don’t over mist or over wet the cake. Hope this helps.
It does indeed .Thanks for your help 🙂
I’ve used icing sheet cake toppers in the past and lightly brushed over top of cake with pastry brush and water beforehand but I now have a steamer which I’ve bought especially for cake decorating.
Would I be right in thinking the top could be lightly steamed rather than ‘watered’?
Hi gina
I haven’t used a steamer on icing sheet toppers so can’t say for definite if it will be ok. I think it probably will be because the steam will just be making the surface tacky. Best way to find out is to do it and if you do, please share your results. x
