Hi neha28

Try PME spray clear glaze. If you can’t use products which contain alcohol ( this does) piping gel will give you a shiny finish. Google ‘piping gel’ if you’d like to make it at home or buy ready made. Glaze can also be made with gum arabic and water, there’s a recipe for a small amount here:

Mix the water and gum arabic together. For best results leave overnight to incorporate. Experiment with a little glaze to see whether you like the result. Let one coat dry before applying another if you want a more shiny effect.

Thanks MIWL, ordered gum Arabic powder this morning .Wanted to know can you suggest me what colours will be best to colour fondant to make it look like whiskey bottle . Have already ordered an edible label sheet , nothing more I am able to think which can help me to make it look realistic

The colour you’ll be looking to make is amber. It will need a balance of red and yellow. Start will a pale yellow base fondant, let it dry. Mix in small amounts of red and yellow you may even need a tiny bit of black. If you’ve got Sugarflair colour saffaron and chestnut they will help with experimenting. What will you use as mixing medium? or will you go ahead and make the fondant amber? If you are colouring up fondant knead in only small amounts until you get the colour you want. The bottle can be shaded with dust colours to get depth and light.
This autumn leaf colour tutorial is a good guide when you start combining your edible colours.

I hope it helps.

Do I need a mixing medium ? I was going to use edible gel colours directly to colour my white fondant and then as you suggested coat them with gum Arabic glaze

Sorry Neha, I thought you were going to paint. You don’t need a mixing medium if you are colouring your fondant.
Try the gum arabic on some spare fondant first to get the feel of how it goes on and dries. You will be coating a much larger surface than I do when I coat my marzipan fruits.
