Hi clan

Jackie has given you the correct answer. Reduce the ingredients by multiplying the 12″ recipe quantities by 0.7 to get your 10″ cake. To get the answer from the ready reckoner ( use the PDF file not the word file) go to the 12″ round in the green column, run your finger along until you come to the 10″ round in the red line at the top and where they meet in the lilac section is the answer (0.7).

Hi clan

You can scale the recipe here http://www.cakeflix.com/blog/how-to-work-out-what-size-cake-tin-to-use

Hi MIWL, I must be thick, I have looked at the calculator and I want to reduce the current recipe from a 12″ to a 10″, the calculator only seems to be for increasing the size of the cake as you have to multiply your ingredients. What am I doing wrong?

Hi, The left side of the scale is the Recipie and the tin size at the top. therefore the answer is 0.7. So its 0.7 of the ingredients to use. Hope this is correct. No doubt if not miwl will tell you how.
