Layered bumpy hilside cake

Hi, I’m making a how to train your dragon cake and was wondering about the cake part. I’m making it like a bumpy grassy hillside and wondering how to go about it. I’ve looked for a tutorial on line. I was gonna make it an 8 inch and 6 inch . I know I’ve to take parts out of the sponge to portray bumps and dips, but wondered if anyone can give me any advice , as not made this style of cake. X

Hi maisy

There are a few cake tutorials on this site which will be good guides on how to layer, fill and carve hills. Take a peek at the following:

Mountain Scene Cake

High Flying Friend

Beach Scene

and this last one which may also help if you cut up the cake into several half-moon shapes and arrange as hills.

Christmas Reindeer Cake

Hope the tutorials help.
