Leaving out coffee in chocolate cake?

The person I’m making the chocolate cake for doesn’t like coffee, however I want to make your handbag cake but all the chocolate cakes I make are not firm enough so I want to use your moist chocolate recipe (I think thts the right one for this cake) so can I just leave the coffee out? Or can you not taste the coffee in it?

Many thanks

Hello Imendrys1987

The coffee can be left out if you like but you can’t taste it in the cake at all. It’s there to enrich the flavour of the chocolate.

Hello, I have left it out before (jut because I ran out!) but I also normally only put in 2 tablespoons rather than the 9 (I think) as I don’t personally like a too strong coffee flavour.. Good Luck!
