looking to buy an edible printer but getting confused. advice needed plz

Hi. I am looking to buy an edible printer. I have looked through the q & a s. A canon ip 3600 has been recommended but everyone I search for it I seem to get a printer with normal ink in it. So my question is, is it a normal printer and you buy edible ink cartridges to go inside it, or is it a special printer just for sugarcraft. One member mentioned that they got there printer from cake craft world but I was unable to find one in that site even tho I used the search box. Any advice would be really appreciated. Thanks.

Hi tracie-jones

I would suggest the Cake Decorating Company, there’s a link for them in the Easter cupcake tutorial. However, it appears their site is down, I’ve just been trying to access it. There are other cake decorating sites which keep these printers, trying googling ‘edible ink printers for cake decorating’. Sorry can’t be more help.

Hi tracie-jones 🙂

It is just a normal printer and you buy edible ink cartridges. I would recommend buying from a company that sells everything together, it’s much easier! I used signalinkjet, on ebay. Please don’t buy second hand as it may have printing ink residues in it. Here’s a link that might be helpful. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/EDIBLE-INK-STARTER-KIT-MG5250-Printer-Cartridges-Ink-100-Sheets-WaferPaper-/120959555755?pt=UK_Computing_Other_Computing_Networking&hash=item1c29c058ab

Ask away if you have any questions, I’ve been using mine for a while 🙂

Hope that helps!
