Hi Spiraali,

The final result is very different, with flower paste for example you can roll it super duper thin and it stretches without tearing and dries really hard.

It is cheaper to make your own things but you can buy them all too.

Hi Spiraali

Hi, I normally add gum tragacanth powder to sugar paste when I making models, I’m assuming it’s the same sort of thing as tylose powder. It’s a lot cheaper as well than sugar paste and mexican modelling paste. Although the flower paste is easier to work with if you are doing flowers and smaller items etc. You can’t eat things that you add the powder to and it does make whatever you are modelling dry rock solid. I’ve still got my wedding cake topper that my friend made over two years ago so that should give you some idea how long things last.

Hope that helps
Donna
