Ninja turtles
Hi, I am desperate for help!! I have to make a cake for Monday with teenage ninja turtle (girlie ones!) figures. Anyone any ideas – also what medium should I use – fondant with Tylose in it – or modelling paste?

Hi annescakes1
Here is one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEpIBtNL7ds many more if you search in youtube ‘how to make a ninja mutant turtle’ Just adapt the figures to look girlie!
Hi Madeitwithlove,
Thanks so much, I did look on youtube, but didn’t manage to find that one! What do you think I should use to make it – it looked like they were using fondant?
Thank you again for your help x
I wouldn’t make it from fondant, you don’t have enough time to get the figures dry. I would use gum paste made from half florist paste half fondant or if you’re able to make your own 250g fondant 1 teaspoon of gum tragacanth. This will need to rest 24 hours to activate the gum trag. If you have tylose or CMC the paste doesn’t have to rest, same quantities. Another option is, if you’re confident using modelling chocolate, which will set much quicker but needs to be kept away from heat sources like radiators. If you decide on modelling chocolate it needs to be coloured up and rested other wise will be too soft to handle and will start melting in the heat of your hands. Have a wee practice before you jump in!
Thanks so so much!!!
