I’m about to use it for an Easter cake. Do you think it will be ok if I fill the cake with it tomorrow for Thursday? Cake won’t be eaten until Friday, I need to decorate it on Wednesday like the bunny cake in this weeks blog.

Hi, yes it should be fine, when i used it inside a cake i made it on the thursday & we cut it on the sunday, let me know what you think of it. I hope you love it. x

Thanks Bev, that’s so helpful. We won’t get any of the cake but I’ll make up enough of the cream for our own Easter cake which unusually this year will be sponge. I normally do Simmnel cake, just fancied something a bit different, only so much fruit cake one can eat!

Hi Bev

I used the buttercream alternative, didn’t realise it would make such a lot, and that was just 125 g. I could have done with half of that! so good value for money. I flavoured it with melted white chocolate and vanilla as the cake was for a small child. The remaining cream is in the fridge and will use in choux buns. Thanks for your help, much appreciated and will use again. xx

Hi Jackie, it’s called Cremebrill i think if you search alternative to buttercream i posted the link, it’s a soft fluffy cream similar to artifical but tastes like ice cream, if you can’t find the link i will post it again in this message.

Hi Jackie

Just to warn you that 125g of the powder mixed up will fill two 8″ cakes cut into three. I made that amount and have loads left over for my choux buns. This stuff goes a long, long way. x
