painting sanata’s white trim on red fondant

I have tried unsuccessfully to paint Santa’s white (fur) on red fondant with white gel diluted with alcohol.I have painted it 3 times, each time it turns pink!

These little Santa’s are for cupcakes,so too small and time consuming to cut all the trim out in white.

Many thanks for any help.

Hi kiwigirl

The quickest and most effcient way to do the trim is to pipe it with a little royal icing. If you don’t have royal icing made up, paddle out some white fondant in little drops of warm water until it becomes the consistency of royal icing. Put the icing in a parchment piping bag, cut a fine hole enough to eject a controlled amount to make the fur. Try the flow from the bag first before piping on the red. Once piped, leave it to dry out. You could also pipe with super white candy melts.
I hope this helps. If you would like more information just post again.

ps. If the red fondant has become wet from painting let it dry first before attempting to pipe the royalicing on it.

Don’t forget you also have the choice of white candy melts. Christmas is something I haven’t given a thought to at the moment but my best wishes to you too for a very happy one!
