Pauls Chocolate cake

Just a silly question… can i use Stork for the chocolate cake or does it have to be butter?

It should really be butter, I don’t think you will get the same results with stork which produces a much softer cake.
If you want to carve the chocolate cake, butter will give you a denser cake.


Hi, I agree the first time I made it I used butter as the recipe said, perfect, but the last time I used clover , simply because it was on offer! I thought the clover cake came out more like a brownie, I wasn’t carving it so it didn’t matter but would definitely use butter if I was. x
