Pauls Moist Chocolate and the Cake – freezing
Hi, I have already baked one of Pauls Chocolate Cakes, it came out brilliant and the little bit that ive tasted its amazing!
Unfortunately it didn’t rise as much as I would have liked and coming to decorate today (took it out of the freezer last night) it wont be high enough so I need to bake another to go with it…my question is does it need to be frozen before I can use it as I need to have this cake completed by tomorrow???
Many thanks
Kat

Hello KatKish85
You don’t have to freeze it if it’s going to be used straight away. Chilling it might be a good idea as it will split better without making too many crumbs. If you’re carving the cake it’s best to freeze it a little for better handling.
Keep the other cake wrapped in parchment paper and a plastic bag, place in a box and store in the fridge while you’re baking the new cake. This is just to ensure it remains as fresh as your new bake. The first cake must not be re frozen, the same freezing rules apply to cakes as with any other foods. Hope this helps.
