Peony veiner board
I notice Paul used a small board for the final petals on his peonies so he could successfully wire them separately. Any idea where I can get this from and what it is called?. Also would it be practical to create a very thin sausage on the wire and then stick this to the petals?

Hi AnnieLaurie
That would be a flower veining board, it has grooves in it to create the centre vein. Take a peek here for all different suppliers and prices:

Some people do cover the wire with either gumpaste or fondant to make a more natural looking stem. I don’t think that would be particularly practical if you intend to place them into posy picks. I’ve seen the wire covered in sugarpaste for one flower like a rose with a sepal and a few leaves, it does look lovely as a statement piece. If you do, do it, work the paste into the base of the flower so it blends in before putting the calyx on. Hope this helps.
ThankQ MIWL – now ordered and on its way!
They’re not cheap are they? I remember cringing at the price when I first bought mine. x
Bought a CelCakes one off of Amazon, delivered within 24 hours on normal delivery. Board has 5 veining tracks so great for doing lots of leaves. Did 40 peony petals yesterday. Wouldn’t be without it now. Great investment!
Makes life a lot easier, I wouldn’t be without mine either!
