Problem fondant

I live in Germany and can’t buy fondant locally, so have to make my own. Normally it’s fine. Today however, it’s sticking to everything. I’ve rolled it out on the work top and it’s stuck , I’ve used my mat and its stuck. I’ve tried both icing sugar and a little trex. I’m now ready to lob it out the window! Extremely frustrated. Can anyone help please? It’s also bubbling loads under the mat, looks a right mess. I’ve had to give up for tonight. Thanks in advance. Candy

Hi candycakes

I’ve just had a very similar problem with Renshaws ready to roll fondant. After several attempts at trying to make it work I resorted to something I’ve never done before and that was to add tylose powder until it came together. It worked a treat! I just added little by little because I didn’t want to turn my fondant into gumpaste. End result was good, would you like to try it? Will save you lobbing it out of the window and hopefully save your sanity too. xx

I already put a little gum trag in. Think I’ll knead a little more in before going to bed. Thank you.

Gum trag needs 12 – 24 hrs rest so it’ll probably be ok by the morning. Good luck with it.
